About The Flamingo Diner
The Flamingo Restaurant was originally opened in 1983, serving the
community breakfast, lunch and dinner. All the recipes were made from scratch and are the old favorites that most of us grew up on.
The Flamingo was considered a landmark by many of the local folks. Owners John Laskaris and Angelo Sofikitis operated the restaurant for 25 years, then made the decision to retire. In 1990, Angelo decided to move his family back to Taylor, Michigan where he again showcased his culinary talents and became very successful with a sister restaurant,"The Flamingo”, that he and his family operated 15 strong years.
Again, Angelo decided to retire and move back to Florida to enjoy the sun. After 4 years of relaxation and the itch to follow those culinary urges running through his blood stream, he
would again create! The Flamingo.
